Meet the team
Hi everyone, I am a mosaic artist specialising in the use of broken and unwanted crockery. I incorporate found items, old jewellery, shells, broken mirror and all that unloved pottery, porcelain and household crockery into my work.
I accept all this wonderful material from friends and colleagues as well as trolling Trade me sights and recycle shops.
I make most of my pieces for the garden setting, but do make art pieces for indoors as well. My ambitions lie in creating large garden pieces, but not until I give up my day job.
I have recently taken on the position of Marlborough Artisan Market Chairperson. I have a great respect for all the artisans who sell their wares in this forum and hope I do the position justice. I am very enthusiastic about growing our Artisan Market and supporting all the artisans involved.
See you all at the market.
I have always been creative so being a member of the Marlborough Artisan Market is perfect for me, as I am working with likeminded, friendly people who are so talented with what they make.
I have been involved with markets for over 35 years and my craftwork has evolved over that time, but always I work with colour.
I handcraft sun catchers, wind chimes, windmills and wall hangings as well as all the wonderful things we make from barrels, I am only limited by my imagination.
I am looking forward to another summer season with the market and I’m really excited about our new venue, Quayside at Riverside Park, High Street, it will be lovely to be in a purpose build area that has such a “market” feel. See you there.
My love of markets has lead me to be involved for the past eight years. My background is sewing and I love making childrens clothing – especially adding bright colours. I mainly make dresses, pinafores, sunhats and handbags for girls.
Being on the Committee for the last two years has been most enjoyable and we have an amazing Committee who are all very passionate about our local Artisan Market.
Council was interested in assisting to increase the vitality of the Blenheim CBD and saw the development of another market as promoting this theme. I was asked to assist and have been involved since day one.
